An Unforgettable Stay in a Rocky Paradise | A Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal Hotel Review

One thing is for certain about me - I have absolutely no problem visiting a honeymoon destination solo! Don't believe me? Check my track record: Conrad Bora Bora Nui, Sofitel Mo'oreaAZULIK Tulum and the list goes on. So when the opportunity presented itself for me to visit 1 of the most exclusive destinations in Cabo, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, I jumped on it without hesitation! So let's head over to this INCREDIBLE hotel!

Aerial view of Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal!

The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is located in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico just 30 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) and about 10-20 minutes from the popular restaurants/bars in Cabo. This 5-star resort has a total of 113 spacious rooms, suites and multi-bedroom residential style villas. And get this - every guest room comes with its own private terrace AND infinity edge plunge pool with BREATHTAKING (and I cannot emphasize breathtaking enough) views of the Pacific Ocean! You'll quickly fall in love with the authentic Mexican flair of the room after just 1 step into your villa!

Getting to the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is very easy. The most painless way to book transportation is through the resort. The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal offers luxurious rides to & from their hotel for a fee ($140.00 USD + 16% tax each way) and can accommodate up to 5 guests.

I decided to forego the hotel’s car service and I booked with Transcabo. The cost for roundtrip airport transportation was $40! Using this ride-share service saved me a few bucks which meant more $$$ for poolside Mojitos! (Heeeeeeeeeey)! Another option is Cape Transfers. I used them on another trip to Cabo. They are amazing as well!

The magic of The Pedregal starts as soon as you drive through the jaw dropping entrance - the Dos Mares tunnel. What awaits you on the other side is sheer beauty! And that’s where the world class customer service begin! Concierge collected my luggage and welcomed me with a delicious Margarita!

After I was all checked in, the concierge gave me a quick but informative tour of the hotel's grounds and what this particular 24-acre Waldorf Astoria offers:

☀️ 4 swimming pools: (1.) The main pool (which is the adults only pool) located near Don Manuel's restaurant & the beach bar. (2.) The beach club family pool. (3.) The Rock pool (children's pool). (4.) The Waldorf Astoria Spa Meditation Pool.

The swimming pools at the pedregal are FABULOUS!

☀️ Restaurants on the property: Don Manuel's (a signature Los Cabos restaurant. Open for breakfast & dinner),  El Farallon, (fine dining with stunning cliffside views of the ocean), The Beach Club (perfect spot for lunch) and Crudo (serves delicious seafood). The Waldorf Astoria also offers private & in-room dining. *Note* This hotel is not all-inclusive.

☀️ Spa & Fitness Center: The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal offers a full spa (ocean view) equipped with its own swimming pool. And if you're into working out on vacation (teach me. Seriously. How do you do it?), there is a gym on the property as well!

☀️ The Perks (freebies): Complimentary luxuries, anyone? Well the W A Los Cabos will give you a free bottle of Clase Azul Reposado Tequila to enjoy along with a beach bag, daily room delivery of guacamole, chips AND beer (served late afternoon) plus free concierge service to help set up your excursions if you plan on doing any!

Clase Azul Tequila compliments of the Waldorf! Sooooo good!!

Below is how the Waldorf Astoria is split up. The left side is tailored towards the solo travelers & adults. The right side will typically host the families.

Once my tour was over, I was escorted to my room. I am a Hilton Honors Gold Member so I received a free upgrade from the original room that I booked, which was the Ocean View King Room. I was now in the Ocean View Vista King room. I literally almost fainted when I walked into my digs for the next couple of nights! The private terrace and plunge pool TOOK. MY. BREATH. AWAY!

The deets: Top floor of the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal | 856 sq. ft. | Plush king bed | Private terrace with plunge pool & sitting area | Fireplace | Rainforest shower | Complimentary WiFi | Telephone with voicemail | Bluetooth sound system | Complimentary refreshments + much more!

I couldn't resist snapping a few pics in this lovely bathroom! Another thing I fell in love with was the deep soaking bath tub and the amazing smelling 'Lady Primrose' bubble bath (how cute is that honey pot)?! The bedroom also features a fireplace which was incredible at night while listening to the waves crashing in below! Super relaxing! The Waldorf Astoria also compliments its guest with a bottle of Clase Azul Tequila to take home (or to pop open on your vacay)! *cheers*

Moving on to more important things: the plunge pool. Whew! Let's see! How can I describe the plunge pool at the W A Los Cabos?! Ummmm....how about absolutely STUNNING! Fix yourself a drink, hop in and enjoy amazing views of the Pacific Ocean from the comforts of your private terrace!

After spending some time in my room, I headed down to explore more of this incredible property! I checked out the adult swim up bar/pool and indulged in a delicious lunch with a couple of Mojitos! The Waldorf Astoria offers a pretty extensive food & drink menu! My lunch was definitely on the expensive side though. A sandwich w/fries and 2 Mojitos ran me about $70 with a gratuity % included.

Breakfast the next morning was served at Don Manuel's restaurant. For being a Hilton Gold member (Diamond members as well) I received a complimentary continental breakfast. So you know what that meant, right? More money saved to buy Mimosas with! Heeeeeeeeey!

Another amazing quality about this resort is that it is home to the BEST restaurant in Cabo - El Farallon! Tucked in to the cliffs of the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, this restaurant just screams "hella' expensive date night" so I left this dining experience to the couples. I did however check out the Champagne Terrace (just a few feet away from El Farallon) to relax, sip on a glass of Rosé while enjoying the terrace and the beach below me. My night was beyond perfect! The next day was even better because I got to see the restaurant in the day light (although it was closed during this time, the cliffside still makes for beautiful pictures)! *Note: Make sure to make reservations if you plan on dining at El Farallon!

Reserving the time out to relax and take in the scenery of this unbelievable resort is probably the whole point of visiting, right? Absolutely! But you'd definitely want to carve out some time to thoroughly explore this hotel. From literally every turn I was left with my mind blown! There is so much beauty around you! I visited in July and the weather was PERFECT! The sun was out and shining which made this place even more unbelievable!

I can't end this blog without mentioning the EXCELLENT customer service and what it cost to stay at such a fabulous holiday destination! Every single person I encountered from the very beginning of my trip to the end of it was simply amazing! The fact that the staff remembers you by name added an extraordinary touch! Plus anything I needed the concierge was on it! And let me send a special shout out to my server at Don Manuel's restaurant. His name was Gau and he was PERFECTION! So attentive and so pleasant! Thank you, Gau! ♥️

*Dun dun duuuun* We're here! Many may be wondering what the price of such a beautiful hotel will cost a night? Well, let me tell you - it's not cheap! Rooms here typically start at around $800 & up per night depending on the dates of your trip and the room type! If you have thousands of Hilton Honors points just laying around (like I did), go ahead and cash them in! I got lucky when I booked and my stay ended up being 94,000 points a night WITH a free upgrade for being a Hilton Gold member at the time!

My last trip to Cabo was in 2012. A lot has changed since my recent visit, but Cabo is still as beautiful as ever! The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is for sure my go-to hotel when I visit Baja California Sur again! It is pure class! I sincerely enjoyed this rocky paradise! This place has my heart! ♥️

My birthday celebration @ the Pedregal was sooooo dope!

*Another Sidebar: Y'all know I love this resort so much, I had to come back for a 3rd time in February 2023! And it was another amazing stay! We were fortunate enough to be there for Super Bowl Sunday! The WA Pedregal had a party + a buffet on the beach! It was crazy fun watching Rihanna's SB halftime show on the big screen just steps away from the ocean!

To add to this experience, the very next morning, we were able to witness a sunrise so breathtaking....I almost cried! It was surreal! I just love this resort!

Happy travels to Cabo!
